Conceivable Future (“CF”) values and strives to protect your privacy and has adopted this privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) so that you clearly understand what information we collect from you and how we may use it. This Privacy Policy describes the types of information and data we collect through our website at conceivablefuture.org, including any subdomain thereof (the “Site”). This Privacy Policy is also part of our Terms of Use.  By your use of the Site, you signify your agreement to this Privacy Policy. In addition, any time you accept our Terms of Use you also accept this Privacy Policy.

What information we collect?

Personally Identifiable Information

There are several features on the Site that allow you to submit personally identifiable information, including first and last name, and email address. Such information may be collected when you:

  • submit a testimony;

  • join the mailing list; and

  • participate in any activity through the Site that requires your voluntarily submitted information.

Additionally, if you contact us, we may keep a record of your correspondence, including any personal information contained therein. A request for service, support, or information may be forwarded to third parties not affiliated with CF as needed to respond to the request.

In addition, if you make a donation to CF, you will be re-directed to PayPal for payment processing and you will be required to provide a valid credit card account.  Such information is collected and processed by PayPal on behalf of CF, but CF itself never receives or retains such payment information.

Tracking Information

We also collect other types of information received from your use of and access to the Site. Such information is not personally identifiable information and generally pertains to statistics that inform us of user traffic (i.e., whether users follow us or like us, etc.). We also may be provided with anonymous traffic usage statistics by Tumblr® or other third party platforms, but are not provided with any personal user information.

What we do with the information we collect?

We will share your personal information with third parties only in the ways described in this policy. We do not otherwise sell, rent, or otherwise distribute your personal information to third parties. We will not disclose any personally identifiable information to third parties without your consent, except:

·       when we believe such disclosure is required by law;

·       to enforce our Terms of Use;

·       to protect the rights, property, security, or safety of CF, Site visitors, or the public;

·       to respond to an emergency; or

·       as otherwise stated in this Privacy Policy.

We may provide your personal information to unaffiliated companies that provide services to help us with our business activities, such as facilitating the processing of donations.

If you submit Testimony for posting on this site or on any of our social media platforms, including on Tumblr®, you will be required to accept the terms of, or otherwise sign and submit, a Project Participant Release as a condition of posting. The Release sets forth certain additional rights granted to Conceivable Future concerning use of your name, likeness, image, voice, age, location, biography, testimony statements, quotes, sound bites, interviews and audio/video performances.

How your information is stored and protected?

We use reasonable security methods to safeguard the information we collect from you through the Site. However, because no security system is impenetrable, we cannot guarantee the security of your data on our servers. In addition, because internet communication is unsecure, we cannot warrant the security of your information or guarantee that the information you transmit to our Site may not be intercepted, accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed. We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations and reserve the right to disclose any information, including personally identifiable information, in our possession or that of the third parties with whom we contract to perform services on our behalf in compliance with any law, regulation, decree, judgment, order, subpoena, or any other government order (collectively, “Order”) without any obligation to contest such Order.

Third Party Sites

The Site provides links to other websites whose privacy practices may differ from that of CF. If you submit personal information to any of these third party sites, your information is governed by the privacy policies of those sites and no longer governed by this Privacy Policy. We encourage you to carefully read the privacy policy of any websites you visit. The Site includes links to various social media pages via the “share” functions on our Site. Social media features are either hosted by a third party or hosted directly on the Site. Your interactions with these features are governed by the privacy policies of the respective companies providing those sites.

Donations

Donations made to CF are made through the third party site PayPal. All payment processing is handled by PayPal, and not CF. In order to make a donation, you will be directed to PayPal and are required to have valid a PayPal account. You are solely responsible for creating and maintaining your own PayPal account and any information submitted to PayPal. Use of PayPal’s site and any donations made or information submitted through PayPal are subject to PayPal’s terms of use and privacy policy.

California Privacy Rights

California residents have the right to receive information that identifies any third parties to whom we may have disclosed, within the past year, any personal information pertaining to you and your family for direct marketing purposes, and a description of the categories of any such personal information disclosed. To obtain this information, please see How to Contact Us below.

Children’s Privacy

We are committed to protecting children’s privacy online and meeting the requirements of the federal Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act. This Site is intended only for users above the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

CF may, in its sole discretion, modify this Privacy Policy from time to time. The revised Privacy Policy will be posted on the Site and the date at the top of this page indicates the last revised date of the Privacy Policy. You understand and agree that your continued use of the Site after we have made any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Privacy Policy.
